As most of you probably already know, we do have some great news. Jesse landed an internship for the summer at a company called PIMCO with their portfolio management group in Newport Beach, California. We found an apartment less than a mile from his office in what appears to be a really fun apartment complex http://www.parknewportapts.com/, so y'all come on out and visit us. We've even recruited some friends from Jesse's class that will be in Newport Beach for the summer as well to come live in the same complex. One couple has 2 kids that are around Casey's age and one guy who is engaged to one of my closest friends. It should be a lot of fun.
In other exciting news, I'm pregnant! I know most of you already know this, too, because I can't keep a secret to save my life. Right now I am about 9 weeks along...only 31 more to go. The due date is November 21st, only 2 days before Casey's 3rd birthday. I will try to blog a little more frequently over the upcoming months to keep everyone updated on Baby #2's progress. Right now he/she is only about the size of a grape and weighs about an ounce.
So, as not to bore you with all of the minute details of the past 4 months I'll just give you some of the highlights along with pictures to get you up to speed:
We have really enjoyed our co-op preschool every Monday and Wednesday and are almost all the way through learning the whole alphabet. This week is actually "X" and "Y", and thank goodness I am done teaching. Casey can recognize all of the letters but he still hasn't quite gotten the alphabet song down just yet. I think it goes something like "ABCDEFG, now I know my ABC's sing with me". We'll work on that over the summer. He is pretty good at counting things up to 10 which I think is pretty impressive.

This is HBS's resident wild turkey. Sometimes he likes to roost out on our balcony, when he isn't chasing people around or up to some other kind of mischief. One of the neat and kind of funny things about living on HBS campus away from all the traffic and chaos is that we have a lot of wildlife and sometimes strange animal encounters. The other day there was a huge golden hawk out on the railing of our balcony that was after a squirrel with it's baby in it's mouth that was hiding under our air conditioner...and you remember the 3 eared squirrel that came into our apartment one morning!

This is the night that Jesse and I went out to celebrate his internship at what might now be my favorite restaurant of all time, Tangierino. http://www.tangierino.com/ For our friend's in Boston, you must go. The fare is Moroccan and it is absolutely DEEE-Licious! The atmosphere is plush and romantic and the entertainment is outstanding. There is also the "Casbah" lounge where you can sit and smoke a hookah of fruit flavored tobacco and have drinks after dinner. The whole experience was unbeatable.

At the end of February we took a quick trip to Minnesota for a long weekend so Jesse could go go to an interview at Cargill. Casey and I were able to tag along thanks to Greg and Peggy, and we all had a really nice visit.

One of the best decisions we made this semester was to take Casey to Tumble Kids gymnastics class once a week on Thursdays. This awesome kid gym is about 5 minutes from our house and Casey loves it. The teachers are fantastic and engaging and they have some really great equipment. They set up a couple different obstacles courses incorporating trampolines, balance beams, spring boards, tunnels, climbing structures and all kinds of fun stuff for the kids to go through a few times while they practice somersaults and other acrobatic moves until they get comfortable with it, then they have some free time to play on whatever they want, and at the end everyone gets a stamp for all his/her hard work. It's a perfect way for Casey to burn some energy and learn balance and stability. We will definitely continue this class when we return after the summer.

Some pictures from the Crimson Kid's "Unbirthday Party" in March. Among other entertainment there was a live animal show featuring snapping turtles, a scorpion, a python, a mink and even a little alligator!

Last weekend HBS hosted the Spring Fling which was about the coolest kid party I've ever been to. I mean, it was really impressive. They had Gymboree come and bring all sorts of fun equipment, they played games with a giant parachute that the kids totally loved, there was face painting, tons of food, little carnival type games, balloon animals...the works! It was incredible. It was definitely the most fun Casey has ever had at any party, I'm alreadly looking forward to next year.

So that's about it for the highlights. What else is there to tell?... Jesse is the new co-president of the Investment Club and I am co-chair of Crimson Kids along with my friends Corinne and Brittany, that should keep us pretty busy. Right now I am working hard on trying to find someone to sublet our apartment for the summer and Casey and I are looking forward to our upcoming trip to Georgia at the end of the month. He is very excited about going to Pop's house and going fishing in GG's pond. I am too, I'm especially excited for GG's cooking. For the last few weeks food hasn't really appealed to me much at all, and I've been feeling pretty nauseaus at dinner time, but I have a feeling that my grandmother's food will help immensly with that little issue. While we are gone Jesse is going to take a weekend trip to Chicago to spend a "guy's weekend" with his good friends Brad and Ian. Brad is flying in from Salt Lake City and Ian is coming in all the way from Shanghai, China! We are planning on leaving here for the summer near the end of May. We'll make a stopover in Minnesota for about a week on our way to California. Our friends from here Allen and Birgitta will be in Minneapolis for the summer as well as our friend's Kristy and Greg with their 3 kids. We are hoping that they can all come out and spend an afternoon with us at Peggy and Greg's while we are there and hopefully we'll get a chance to visit with all the Schultzes and Brettingens, too.

At the end of March we joined Peggy and Greg in Anna Maria Island, Florida for spring Break. They spent the month there but we were lucky enough to make it for a week. The weather was beautiful and warm and we all had a wonderful time. We relaxed in the sun, played on the beach, swam, rode the trolley, went out to dinner and Jesse and I even got in a Yoga class. Near the end of the week Peggy's sisters Traci and Toni came down with their families and stayed in Lido Key about 20 minutes away. Their resort had a really nice pool where we spent a couple days hanging out with them and Casey was in 7th heaven. He swam like a little fish and he loved jumping off the side of the pool. He would go all the way under water and it didn't bother him a bit. He swam until he was completely exhausted, and so were we. On our last day there we all went out on a pontoon boat. We cruised around and had a picnic on a beach, we also got up close and personal with a bunch of dolphins!

Thanks for keeping up with us and I'm sorry it's been so long. If anyone wants to come visit us in Newport Beach this summer please, please do! We miss all of our wonderful friends and family and hope to see or hear from you soon.
