Getting in the groove

Since my last post we've gotten settled in to our apartment and done lots of fun things around the area, but Jesse starts class today so I'll have to go at it alone for a while. The break was so much fun for all of us. On Wednesday we got together with our friends Natalie and Ryan and their 6 month old little girl Hailey as well as our friends Allen and Birgitta to do some sightseeing around the city. We walked part of the freedom trail and checked out Quincy market and Faneuil Hall where we had lunch and caught a street performance. Casey was such a little trooper and really enjoyed taking in all the sights and sounds of the city.
Thursday night, our friend Matt, who Jesse went to high school with and is in a PhD program at Stanford came through town on business and stayed with us. He wasn't here for long so we just grabbed some dinner at this great Mexican restaurant , Border Cafe. After dinner we met up with Jesse's friend Andrew from Dartmouth and his girlfriend Marcy. They have lived in Boston for the past five years but were moving to Los Angeles the following day, which is too bad because they are so much fun. We had a great time back at our apartment having beers and catching up. It was sad to see them all go.

Saturday evening Casey and Hailey had a babysitter and we were able to go out to dinner with a big group of friends at a great downtown restaurant called Masa. The food was incredible and the drinks were really fun. Afterward we met up with even more new HBS students and their "partners" for drinks at a bar in Cambridge. We had a great night out without the little ones and are so excited to have found a reliable sitter. She lives right next door to Natalie and Ryan and is the daughter of a professor. She watches all the neighborhood kids and everyone loves her. We already have her booked for some upcoming events.

On Monday the HBS Partner's Club hosted a clambake at Winter Island Marine Park up in Salem. The drive only took about an hour and it was a blast. All of our friends were there and we also met lots of couples and families. The weather was gorgeous and the setting was perfect, right by the water and next to a great playground. Casey had a ball running, climbing, sliding and pushing his truck around. The food was fantastic, and the best part was that everyone got a huge, delicious lobster. We spent about 3 hours at the clambake and as if our day wasn't full enough we attended a reception for the new students out on the lawn HBS (right outside our apartment) as soon as we got home. It was a great party with drinks, more food and a deejay.

Casey and his "twin" Luke

Our social calendar has never been this full and I'm pretty sure it only gets crazier. Over the next couple weeks we are going to another reception, a family night at the Science Museum, a club night and a casino night...that will take us to the middle of September and Jesse's parents are coming out for a visit on the 28th. We are so excited for their visit and I know Casey will be thrilled.
Thanks for checking in on us. I'll try to put up a new post every other week or so. Take care!

Hey Jesse & Georgia -
Davie just passed along your site to me. It looks like you guys are settling in nicely. Jill and I can definitely relate to moving half way across the country. SoCal is treating us well. Hope all is well and maybe we can see you back in MN around the holidays. I still need to meet Casey. Jamarr
